Philippians: Truth Revealed Series Message

Next Sunday July 13th
Success God’s Way. (3Ph12-23) 
There is a market glut today of books on success. Everyone thinks the latest book will be the one to make their life fulfilling and solve all my problems. When I want to learn about success, I want somebody who's done it.

I want to look at somebody who has accomplished what I want to accomplish. We learn much more about success and life from models than we do from manuals.  Jesus Christ is our ultimate model for success.  The Apostle Paul is also an excellent model.  Philippians addresses Paul's Pattern for successful living. 

1. EVALUATION: Face my faults.  No one, not even the Apostle Paul had it all together.  Successful people are always looking for way to improve and grow. 
2. ELIMINATION: Forget the former.  Let go of your past. Stop being manipulated by your memories. We need to let go of the past so we can get on with the present. Success involves learning to forget. Forgetting the past means I don't let the past affect me anymore. Don't let it control you or have power over you or manipulate you. Successful people learn from the past without dwelling on the past.
3. CONCENTRATION: Focus on the future.  Successful people are goal oriented. They focus on the future.  Less than 5% of the people in America ever write down a life goal. It is not by accident that the 5% who do are the top leaders in their field. 
4. DETERMINATION: Fight to the finish. The great people in life are just ordinary people with extraordinary amount of determination. They don't know how to quit. They keep on keeping on. They never give up.
